The museum is located in the village of Sobibór, in the area of the German extermination camp during World War II (SS-Sonderkommando Sobibor). The museum was founded on October 14, 1993, i.e. on the 50th anniversary of the armed uprising of prisoners in the camp [1]. The museum complex consists of a monument to a Jewish mother with a child, a mound with the ashes of the victims of the camp, and a museum building located at the former railway station, connected to the remaining parts of the so-called museum. on the trail of memory.
