A walk around the city inhabited since childhood is not unusual. But sometimes you only need to lift your head, look at the tops of tenements, decorative cornices or memorial plaques. The walk should start with the ice cream at the square at the foot of the castle, and then take the stairs leading to this magnificent building. From here you can enjoy the taste of ice cream and a beautiful view of the old town - the only one in Poland with such an atmosphere, because unlike others it was not rebuilt from rubble but restored; here everything is as it was centuries ago. From the castle through the bridge leads the road to the Old Town through the Grodzka Gate. This way, after the signing of Unia Lubelska, the royal party went to the Dominican church on ul. Złota - there were relics of the Holy Cross that were stolen in 1991. Many famous tenements lived in Old Town tenements: e.g. Rynek 2 - S. Klonowice, then Wincenty Pol, J. Kraszewski. The market square with the Tribunal in the middle is small, but it is worth to walk around by a slow walk, paying attention to the picturesque Fish Gate, Grodzka Street, and Trynitarska Gate with a characteristic rooster at the top. It is worth climbing it and admiring the panorama of "the largest village in eastern Poland" from above. But how charming! At the foot of the Lublin castle is a vast green area that remembers strange stories. This is a former Jewish quarter. Recently, there is a plan of this district there - so you can take an amazing trip into the past in your imagination. At Pl. Zamkowy 10 (formerly ul. Szeroka 28) is a plaque dedicated to the "Seer of Lublin" (Jakub Icchak Horowitz). There were also synagogues here; it was the administrative and political center of the Jewish community. Just close your eyes and you can hear this characteristic fuss. But then a dark cloud comes to mind - the years of occupation, the ghetto and after the war there was nothing left of the Jewish quarter. It's just a reflective walk through the old town ...
