Probably the first Orthodox Parish was established in Włodawa around the 14th and 15th centuries with the creation of the Włodawa settlement or settlement. In 1742, the Orthodox parish was taken over by the Uniates. The object was destroyed and rebuilt several times. In 1842, the construction of the church was completed. It was consecrated in 1843. The church was built in the Byzantine-Classicist style, on the plan of a Greek cross with three apses from the altar side. The Uniate priest Nikon Zieliński, who was later repressed and suspended for helping the insurgents in 1864, had a lot of credit for the construction. His successor also did not comply with the post-uprising orders of the authorities and was arrested. The church began to fall into ruin again. In 1875, after the dissolution of the union, it was taken over by the Orthodox. In the years 1890-91 the building was rebuilt, probably adding two aisles. After the displacement of Ukrainians in 1946, the church was closed for 10 years. The services were again not begun until 1956. The interior of the temple is covered with classicistic polychrome. Inside there is a rich iconostasis from the nineteenth century and numerous antique furnishings from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries
