The central part of the city is a spacious four-side market square, whose center is occupied by the so-called "quadrangle" - a set of one-story, vaulted stalls and slaughterhouses from the 18th century forming a closed quadrangle. It is a monument with a rare urban and architectural solution intended for commercial purposes. This is where Sienkiewicz placed the duel between Wołodyjowski and Kmicic. The photo shows one of the two gates on the east-west axis leading to the courtyard.
